Glenn Turner, co-founder and partner in Burrston House, has over 30 years of experience in publishing and consulting. He began his publishing career as a sales representative with Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. He has held numerous management positions in both editorial and marketing, and prior to launching Burrston House he was President and General Manager of the College and Trade Divisions at Scott Foresman, Little Brown (Time Warner, Inc.). Prior to Scott Foresman Glenn held the position of Editor-in-Chief and Vice-President at Richard D. Irwin (McGraw-Hill). He also served as Publisher and Vice-President for the College and Nursing Division at C.V. Mosby during which time the college division tripled revenues and generated several new titles that remain industry leaders.
Glenn is a big fan of Coach John Wooden and his philosophy for success. Travel, food and wine, dogs (and dawgs!) and college football are his passions.
Meg Turner, co-founder and partner in Burrston House, has 25+ years' experience in publishing and consulting in higher education. She also began her publishing career as a sales representative with Holt, Reinhart, and Winston. She has held management positions in both editorial and marketing for HRW and Burrston House. While a sales representative, Meg's performance led to her promotion to Marketing Manager for the HRW Humanities and Social Sciences, becoming the first female sales representative at HRW to be promoted to a management position. A native of Philadelphia, prior to entering publishing Meg taught special education. Meg has also had a successful ten year career as an account executive in the highly competitive commercial broadcast industry in both the Chicago and St. Louis markets. Her clients included McDonalds, AT&T, the U.S. Army, and Federated Department Stores.
Meg spends her free time walking Tucker (see photo) and enjoying the company of other dog walking friends. Summers are spent gardening and visiting farm markets for local Jersey produce. An avid reader of fiction, Meg's favorite authors are those who write stories about women across all cultures and time periods.
